You might try a 243 win ,25-06 ,6.5X55 , or a6 MM they all work fine on deer . I also have the 257 R but ammo isn't always available when you need it .

25WSSM. I probably wouldn't buy one of those unless you reload. I've been tossing around the idea of buying one lately to fill a void in my gun cabinet (no .257 calibers).

I have a 243 barrel ordered for my Blaser, but it is to be more of a varmint/light deer rifle. If I wanted something to be a serious deer gun, I would go with 25-06. It offers manageable recoil, available ammo, and plenty punch for deer size game.

Id reccommend the 6.5x55 or .243 for deer. Both have very light recoil and are fine deer calibers.

If you like the Wby thing then the 257wby is one tough cookie... BUT, otherwise I think I'd have to say 25.06.

I would also say 25-06. I have a 257 bob, factory loads are sometimes scarce. I don't think you'll find a more capable dual purpose cartridge.

243 WIN, 25-06, 250 SAVAGE, 257 ROBERTS, OR EVEN A NICE 25-35 IF YOU LIKE LEVER ACTIONS (OR IF YOU CAN FIND IT) ALL OF THESE GUNS WILL BE COMFORTABLE TO SHOOT AND WILL ALL DO 200YDS. OR BETTER ON WHITETAILS.
