Default Thumbhole stock?

Kickin' around the idea of a thumbhole stock for my new Ruger M77 MkII long action. I like the feel of the ones I've handled on the varmint rifles at the gun store. But searching the net, I can't seem to find anyone that makes one for my rifle. Anyone know of a company that does?Wood or synthetic doesn't matter.I'm also curious what you antelope/deer/elk/ecthunters who have used them in the fieldthink of a thumbhole stock.Does having your thumb in that hole slowdown working the bolt for a second shot? - not that I ever have to takesecond shots.Any advantages/disadvantages of using a thumholer for big game? Thanks.

Here is one I just ordered from Richard's Microfit. I am pretty sure they would have one for you. Tom.

That stock is going to be beautiful after you finish it.

Good luck.

I have a Bell and Carlson thumbhole on my Ruger 7mm Mag. I really like it. I don't think that it slows down the operation of the bolt enough to worry about it. Just like everything else, you just need to get used to it. Mine is the tang safety model, so thats a little weird to operate, but on a MKII it should be fine.

I've had very good stuff from Boyd's for a few of my 10/22's. 3 stocks from them thus far have all been very well inletted and nicely finished.

I agree they feel really good but try putting it up to your off shoulder as if shooting left handed (if you are right handed). I've killed 4 deer that came up hard on my right and I had to shoot left handed to get a shot. That thumbhole stock just doesn't feel too good on the offside so I stick to my conventional stock. Just my $.02.

I just finished a 257 AI with a Boyds thumbhole. Plenty of room for a glove in this one...I finished it myself. I'm pretty sure Boyds can fix you up. This one on a Mod95 Mauser action.

That's a nice looking stock, 48th. Did you have to do much modification on the stock before the action and barrel fit properly? I've thought about buying a stock from Boyd's myself. One of my only holdbacks is that I'm not sure how much work I'd have to do to get eveything to fit properly without hurting accuracy.
