It is so close to the regular 270 that you may never notice any difference. I have been shooting the 270 Win and the 270 WSM both for a while now. At the max, the 270 will outdo the 270 Win, by 150-200 fps. However in my case that means a 4 inch longer barrel on the WSM. On game in the field, the difference is close to nil. However the 270 of either strain is a flat shooter and the WSM will give you about a 1 1/2 less drop than the standard 270.

Zeroed at 200 yards the 270 WSM will drop 5.5 inches at 300. The 270 Win will drop 6.9 at 300. Recoil is slightly more with the WSM but not much more than a 30-06. Accuracy seem to be spectacular. At least from my 26 inch Savage varmint model.

I have a Sako in the 270 WSM but relay haven"™t had the opportunity at this time to check for bullet drop. I"™ve only been shooting up to 200 yards and still trying to find the perfect load however that setup sure sounds good for the price...

I have a browning A-Bolt in a .270wsm it is a fair shooter. I just havent found a load it likes yet. I just got my dies for it though. So now I can start playing with it. No factory round shot very good. The deer I killed with it was about 150 yards andit dropped like its legs were cut off. That waswith 150 grainspwinchester super X.

Dan Im using Rel 22 with 130grn Nos Bt's out of my A-bolt. Im getting sub 1" 5 shot groups. It also shots the 130grn Barnes XLC's under an inch with max load or Rel 19 and Rel 22. It likes a bit of free bore with the Barnes bullets.

56grns for Varget and 110grn Vmax bullets shoot great also.

I have both and to me the 200fps advantage is worth it over the 270, especially if you handload.

Sure did, I cant remember the exact load info, Im at work now but could get it for you this eve. It shot great(1" groups)just wasn't rated as fast as the Rel 22, so I stuck with that.

Here's max loads from Hogdons site. Im sure I worked up to 54grns of Varget for the 130grn NOS Bt's.

That sounds about right $800 for gun $600 for scope. I would try to get him down a couple hundred more, but it sounds like a gun worth owning. You should get it and tell us what you think.
