Default Thoughts on Rem 25-06

I have a nice browning .270,

but I must bragg on this "CHEAP" Stevens Model 200 25-06 REM, I bought this gun for $280 put some good glass on top and loaded some Federal Premium vital.shok 115 grain nosler Partition in it and was amazed at how good of a grouping it shot.

But what made me put the .270 in the gun case and hunt with the 25-06 is how tight of a group it shot when I loaded some Winchester cxp2 120 grain positive expanding point's in it....

this gun has become my number 1 deer killer.

I must say its ugly as sin with the grey stock, but i'm amazed by the 25-06.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the 25-06, any type gun....or the stevens model 200 25-05?

I have a Winchester ADL 25-06, I absolutley love the gun! I think it is the flatest shooting gun I have ever owned and the grouping I get with it is amazing. I get a little bit tighter with the CXP2 120 gr. than I do shooting the Winchester Ballistic tip silvers!

I have owned a Husquevarna 25-06 for over 20 years and I absolutely love it even though I don't use it as much as I used to. I have killed several mule deer and countless black tail deer with it. I think it is a great caliber.

Couple other things! If you like a fast gun that is soft on the shoulder then you will love this gun!

I have a 25-06 in a Tikka T-3. It's my beanfield gun. I love it. Kills deer like lightening.

Have used the .25-06 and .270 many times when hunting Power Lines!

I have a Savage 111 in 25-06. I love it. Where I hunt, any deer I see is in range. That's a nice feelin'.

Hello Bigaggie...I assume you mean KState! the 25-06 is great and you always have the option in later years when the barrel gets worn, ofreaming the action toAckley specs when you install the new barrel...which essentially upgrades it to a 257 Weatherby. Fantastic flat shooting hard hitting Deer and Pronghorn Rifle. I cannot offer a higher grade on a SAMMI deer rifle. Regards, Rick.
