Default Where to get a Custom Length Stock?

Im 6 foot 7 and have rather longs for a standard OEM stock. I really like the Hogue Stocks but im still worried that they might not be long enough for my anticipated level of shooting comfort. Does anybody know where I can have a cutom stock fitted to my length of arm? I really cant spend a lot of money ($200-$300 MAX) and was hoping some people in here might have experience with a custom stock manufacturer.

Thanx in advance

By saying you like hogue stocks I am thinking that you are leaning toward synthetic stocks. A cheap stock that comes longer is ramline but I really don't care for them much. Measure a hogue stock and add the thickness of a really thick recoil pad. Try the same with ramline, and all the different brands you can find. With your height,it sounds like you need a 14.5 to 15,or even up to 16length of pull. The easist way to check your length of pull, hold the stock in your hand as if you are going to shoot it(holding the pistol grip),with your arm staright up,with the correct fit,the pad should be touching your upper arm while holding it upright, with your arm bent at 90 degrees.

You are correct, I am looking for a synthetic stock. Thanks for all the posts and links to various manufacturers. I will check out mcmillan, HSprecision, and ramline to see what the have to offer

I have an hs precision on order. Theywere at12-16 weeks delivery time whenI ordered mineback in mid December, sokeep that in mind.nice people to talk with and they will ask what LOP when you place your order, I think after 14" they charge extra,I think it'son their web-site.

I ordered it because like the hogue they have an aluminum block bedding system (no glass bedding needed)andreceived good reviews on Midway. WhatI didn't like about the hogue was that it would add a little weight to my gun and since it's only a .257 robertsI didn't want to add any weight. if I had a magnum or bigger caliber I might consider the hogue for a little recoil reduction but not with the roberts.

Good luck with your search.
