Good rifle

I want a good rifle. Probably a .223 or a 22-250. i dont want a brand new rifle cause i dont have 3 4 5 hundred dollars. what would be the best caliber, price. i can look at pawn shops and stuff but i dont know if ill see anything good or not.
any help is greatly appreciated.

i believe mossberg now carries a 223 but i could be wrong, i got my 270 for 240$ new

mossberg carries a .243 but not a .223.
how much would a mossberg 100 atr in .243 cost?

that sucks because wally world has actually had the best rifle prices around in my opinion
