I am thinking that a Taurus Titainum tracker in 41mag might be cool. Its lighter than some 22s and you can load it with light cast loads or heavy bear stoppers. I haven't seen one in person yet but I am looking for one

On my god did I say that I liked a taurus?

These days I carry any one of a bunch of Ruger Single actions..I guess when deer hunting with a rifle,my single 6 5 1/2 in 22mag is most commanly carried.

I used to carry a nice Ruger .357 in the woods, but i really didnt want to mess it up. Now i take my Glock 40 since i cant find a way to destroy it.
I put one round of snake loads in the tube and a few in the clip and the rest is just hollow points. Its worked great for me in the last few years.

If i were allowed by law to carry a pistol while hunting i would carry a single action 22 revolver. I could shoot small game and it would be perfect for delevering coup de grace shots. And if the deer wernt around i could find a spot and plink away at my hearts content lol im fond of 22s for some reason.

I carry a Glock 17 9mm. Loaded up with Corbon hollow points. Just in case a mountain lion or bear wants to eat me.

I used to pack a Mod29 44 or a mod 13 357mag when I was younger and used to see blackbears now and then, occasional bobcat. Now, I don't worry about it, just another thing to slow me down while in the woods. And besides, I don't plan on robbing a bank while in the woods.I go for lightness now.

Id say a S&W 40 cal or a S&W 44 both good but the 44 has twice the power
