Default slip on limbsaver size question

I received a small one as a present and it seems just a hair tight on my savage .270 bolt action which is what it will be primarily used on when I'm at the range. Would it be worth the trouble to trade it in for a medium? It doesn't seem to affect the functionality any so far but I also haven't shot it yet.

Most rifles accept the medium size. You will really like the pad after a range visit. If you have any sensitivity to recoil, that will be reduced substantially. What gets eliminated by adding the Simsis the Ben-Gay, all those shoulder bruises andthe(2-3)Advil after range sessions.

I have a savage 270 with the slip on and mine took a medium. Each gunis different though but i was told the vast majority of guns take the medium. I'd check into it.

i can tell by looking at the small that it wont' fit on my ML or my remington 870 (though it already has a recoil pad from the factory) so i think i'll get a medium anyway.
