Default Rem 7400

I'm not having much luck getting any info on the 750 woodsmaster so I thought maybe there might be some info on the 7400... I'm figuring there almost the same... I've read that the 7400 arent very accurate... Most people saying that the best they will do is 2-3" groups at 100 yards... I'm thinking about getting the 750 in 30-06...

Any info would be great

Well, I know there were several improvments with the 7400 over the old 740woodsmaster to keep from jamming. But some people still complain with it. I know with coreloks, I get 2MOA with my 7400 270win. But with 54gr of 4350 and 130gr gameking, I get a good 1.2MOA consistently. Biggest problem with all the semis, is first finding a powder that cycles good in all conditions, and then accuracy. I tried all the typical semi powders like 4064, and it didn't work for me.

I had a 7400 for several years in .280. I honestly don't remember how accurate it was but I do remember that I had nothing but trouble with that stupid detachable magazine. It never did strip the rounds right and it was also frequently jam. I'm not sure if the jamming was related to the magazine or a seperate issue but I quickly grew to hate it nevertheless. I got rid of it. I have the 7600 in .280 also and I love it.

My wife has the 7400 carbine 30-06 and in her hands she can shoot a 3 shot group and cover it with a quarter @ 100 yards. She is using the winchester silvertip ammo. The only problem with hers is when cycling the first round up, it does not lock up real well. But I think that is just the newness of it and possibly she might have gotten a bit of dirt in there.

I think I might just wait till next rifle season gets close and try these post again... I really would like to hear more about the new 750 before I buy one
