Default Proper way to clean a bolt?

Hi guys, my Stainless Ruger M77 MKII .270 has a bad habit of collecting dust on the bolt... I am sure it's my fault from the very light oiling I gave it before hunting this past weekend... What's the best method to clean the bolt and avoid this problem going forward? Thanks for any tips...
