Default CZ - ANY GOOD??

I'M IN THE MARKET FOR A .223, I NEED SOMETHING LIGHT AS MY ARTHRITIS IS GETTING WORSE. COST IS ALSO A FACTOR, I'M TRYING TO KEEP THE COST OF THE RIFLE BELOW $600.
I'M LOOKING AT THE.....
WEATHERBY VANGUARD ALL BELOW $600
REMINGTON 700 SPS ALL BETWEEN 6-7 POUNDS
CZ 527 AMERICAN
ANY SUGGESTIONS? ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CZ?
( MAYBE I MISSED A BETTER CHOICE? )
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Never had heard much negative with CZ. I have had several of their pistols and liked them very much. My favorite dealer thinks their rifles are pretty darn good stuff.

I agree with James B without having shot or owned one. I have read at least two very positive reviews of CZ's in magazines.

I have two CZ's-a 527 carbine 7.62X39mm, and a 550 in .416 Rigby. Both are very high quality, accurate shooters. I do object to the detachable magazine in the 527, though. On a mini-Mauser type action, I'd much prefer the nondetachable double-row internal box mag. of the standard Mauser type.....

BUT the CZ 527 is very light and handy!

I just purchased a CZ 452 American, left handed 22. I have not shot it yet, but it sure feels like a winner. I know that sounds silly, but nevertheless it feels good, the wood is quite good for an inexpensive rifle, the bluing looks good, along with the machining. The only part I did not like is the magazine.

Did you look at a Savage Weather Warrior. I have one in 223. The rifle is a good shooter(mine does not have the Accu-Trigger). The rifle is lightweight, synthetic stock, andStainless Steel. The price is also much less than your limit. It makes a great truck gun. Mine has taken a beating, and it keeps on busting groundhogs out to 300 yards. I limit my 223 groundhog hunting to 300 yards. Anything farther, and I step up to a larger caliber. Tom.

You might want to checkout the Tikka T3 Light.

Got a 527 varmint laminated CZ in .223. Have a17hmr and 550 .308 also. The only negative I can say about CZ riflesis that I hate their scope mounting systems as the choice of rings is very narrow and the ones that are available are either very expensive(talley) or look clunky(CZ's own). They really need to take a good look at Ruger and retool their scope mounting system. Other than that small gripe they are all great. Accurate, reliable, solid wood and steel and they look good. Hope it helps.
