Default tac driver

if you were to shoot in a contest shooting 100 yards out to 200 yards, what caliber would you use? what do you think is the tac driver? scoped of course.

For me I would say something easy to shoot without a lot of recoil, maybe a 6mm or .243.

I would be more concerned about the rifle than the round. But I would probably pick a 223.

As a rule, acuracy does not depend on the calober but on the rifle itself. Rifles with lower recoil levels however for most would be more shootable. I have owned some super accurate rifles. Probably the most accurate were a 270, a 6.5x55 and a 257 Roberts.

Tack driver is differentt things to different people. To me a tack driver will shoot one inch or less @ 200 yards.

Right, an accurate rifle doesn't necessarily pertain to what caliber it is, but more to what you can shoot comfortably and hit what your aiming at with.

If I were restricted to only the guns in my cabinet, I would choose my Remington 700 VLS in .223 Rem.

If I could choose from any rifle in existence, I would pick a custom benchrest gun in .222 Rem or 6mm PPC.
