Default Whats your take?

well what do you guys think about these mossberg rifles? Ive heard pretty good things so far and im going to buy the .270 version. Have you guys heard any negative things about them? also what kind of scope should i put on it, i hunt wooded areas and usually have shots out to 120 but occasionally hunt fields and i want to have the ability to get on one at 250 or so. Just wantewd to know what your recommendations are and if you've heard anything bad

I don't know anyone that has one....and I know alot of people. I'm sure they are probably servicable hunting rifles probably on par with say a Stevens or a Savage in quality. I doubt they are capable of 1 MOA accuracy but just about anything will get the job done out to 120 yards.

I have used many Mossberg rimfires but never the center fires.

I have been in the Hunting Woods since 1948 and have never seen a hunter with a Mossberg centerfire rifle.

The only thing I would really watch for is an overly excessive trigger pull weight. Other than that, they are supposed to be decent guns.

They are a 1.5 MOA at best. Go with a Remington. $399 for a .270 with busnell scope!

well guys I am just looking for an inexpensive rifle, ive already got two high quality .308's, one bolt and other semi, the are pretty heavy and i decided i wanted a light compact gun because I hunt mountains alot and the others get really heavy. I am getting this one for christmas, but what scope would you put on it, most of my shots will be wooded areas out to 120 but i hunt the fields occasionally and would like to be able to take one out to 200+
