Default RE: .350 Ultra Mag?

It won't do anything that a 338ultramag won't do in North america and it isn't legal for the really big game in most of Africa.

It's already out there and it's called the 358 STA.

excuse me? yes it is an ultramag, maybe not the same case but exactly the same class. whats the actual difference in velocity between the 7mm RUM and the 7mm STW (the 8mm rem mag necked down). basicly none! remington lowered the advertised velocity of the stw the year the Rum came out.
Hodgdon lists the stw with a 140 @ 3284 fps and the rum @ 3279 fps, my custom stw shoots the 140 @ 3550 fps, ya think it would be different at .358 diameter?
The main thing about a HP cartridge in .358 is lack of good high BC bullets.

Nothing stopping you from making one, if that is what you really want.... i reckon the reamer has already been made to do this and a set of dies is only a phone call away from Redding

It's already a named wildcat. Called the .358UMT. I too would like to see it standardized though. I think it would make a heck of a round.
