Default got a winchester model 68 from grandpa

My grandfather passed almost two years ago but we just now found it. Can anybody tell me about this rifle? What were the dates of manufacture? Were there many made? Its in real good gonditioin and doesn't apear to have much use. I shot it a few time the other day and it was pretty easy to shoot to about 50 yards. Are these things worth anything (not that I would even dream about it being an heirloom)?

According to the 25th Edition of Fjestad,

Winchester mod. 68 .22LR or .22WRF (not serial numbered) only 100,000 were manufactured between 1934-1946.

100%=$275

98%=$225

95%=$165

90%=$125

80%=$100

70%=$65

60%=$50

Add 200% in .22WRF cal.

Nice little rifles. I have one in the back of my gun case as well. It was given to my son by my father in law. Still shoots very well.

My grandfather had the same gun as well and I used to take it squirrel hunting on his farm all the time as a youngster (20+ years ago). Those guns shoot amazingly well for open sights because the sites are so fine. I took it out again this year squirrel hunting on opening day (just for reminiscing...and togive the squirrels a much better chance than competing with the 12 gauge)--had a ball and brought back dinner. Nice gun.
