I am looking at purchasing a new rifle strictly for varmint hunting and a little bit of paper punching. i was debating on either thesavage 12VSS Varminter or the CZ 527 Varmint Kevlar in a .223 caliber. Does anyone know anything about either of them? Which is more accurate? Which is more reliable? Or if they both suck what is another rifle worth looking at?
Either of those would work very well. I had the same thoughts myself. And yesterday, I ordered a Tikka T-3 Varmint in 22-250. And I am pretty sure it comes in a 223 as well. The one I ordered was $650. I looked at one at the gun shop, and I fell in love. It made me completely forget about the others I was considering. Just another option. Good luck
This is the same model I bought. It was the only pic I could find right away.
I'mall for the savage 12vss over the cz. Judging by the performance of other, even cheaper savage varmint rifles I've shot, you can't argue against its accuracy. They're probably both equally as reliable. The savage has the accutrigger for fast, easy trigger weight adjustment, though. Well my opinion's out
CZ over the Savage anyday. The single set trigger on the CZ is way better then the dumb accutrigger thing. The CZ also looks a lot nicer. My 2 cents. You might also look at the Remingtons.
