Default Steyr Scout Rifle

Does anyone have one of these? If so what do you think about it? How is the accuracy? I'm considering buying one of these in .223.

For those of you that maybe aren't familiar with them:

Can you post some ballistics for the .376? Who makes ammo?

Hornady is the only main stream maker of ammo. They have 2 loads. A 225 grain reduced loadand a 270 grain both at 2600 fps. from a 24" barrel.

Hodgdons load data.

wow. That cartridge is amazing. Too bad it will destroy you in a 7 lb rifle. It only drops 2 more inches than a .308 at 300 yards with over 200 ft/lbs more of energy.

It shouldn't be all that bad. If the chart in the article linked above is correct it is essentially equal to a 338 Win mag firing a 250 grain bulletout ofa 9 pound rifle. Roughly 33 - 34 pounds of recoil. Not exactly easy on the shoulder but certainly nothing to be scared of shooting.

Neat little rifle with a huge price tag. If I were going to pay $2500+ for a rifle, it had better be chambered in .50 BMG.
