Default Spartan Shotguns?

So what's the opinion on the Spartan shotguns now that Remington bought them out? I'm looking at possibly buying a side by side .410 for all of my wingshooting. I'm looking to do it somewhat on the cheap, but I also want something that will hold up and last the ages. I've had the Baikal version (what Spartan formerly was prior to being bought out by remington). They're running right under $500 around here for the stainless receiver model 310 and about $450 for the standard blued model 210 I'd likely get the 310.

What's the concensus view?

I think Baikal still makes the Spartan shotguns Remington just changes the name on them.

I have one of the single shots and it's alright. The fit and finish isn't that great, but it was only 90 bucks for a youth model. The over unders are a bit nicer, but they cost more as well.

I agree with the others, I haven't heard anything about them buying them out, they just have a deal with them. You can get virtually the same guns with a different name on them if you want.

I have a Baikal side by side in 20 ga. Gun is very tight and just love the way it swings and shoots!
