Default B-Square Mount

I have a B-Square scope mount on my 870, but I have fat hands so unless I'm very carefull while shooting, the bottom of the back edge, right by where the screw goes through, will bite my hand. Can I take a dremel and make it more rounded? Or am I chancing screwing up the mount?
