Sako Model 75 Stainless Synthetic
LMSR: $1129
Perfect: $1100
VGood: $800
Good: $660
Introduced in 1997, still in production.

You didn’t list the scope model but I will say an average price for a 3-12 x 50 Swarovski scope is at least $1400 new. They will bring close to ¾ their new value in perfect used condition; let’s say $1000 in this case. A fair price for both parties would be somewhere around $1600 - $1900 depending on the condition of the rifle and scope. If all is “as new” or truly perfect asking $2000 or slightly better might not be out of the question, when new the rifle/scope would have run around $2600 or better. The buyer would need to use their judgment when making an offer; this information is only a foundation for logical reasoning. Best of luck!

doctordeath...

pmi summed it up fairly well. I have a simular setup, M75 stainless synthetic 375 H&H with a Zeiss Diavari 3x12x50 bought last year new. If memory serves me right the price was $2700 plus tax. This is a great shooting rifleas it regulary shoots under an inch. If the price was in the 2k range I would jump all over it, if it's under that I would question it for some reason, maybe a stolen firearm. I for one believe is paying a fair price.

Sounds like an awesome deal. I love sako rifles. They feel like theyre built perfectly. The rifle you reach for on opening day! I would check it out. Do they let you shoot them? The only possible thing I could think that could be wrong is maybe it doesnt shoot good. The owner may have been a bad shot also though or thought it kicked too hard for him. The latter would probably be the reason he traded it. I'd see if I could shoot it before I bought it. I'd say if you flash the cash theyll let you pop it off a few times.

Sounds like a great deal Dr. D. You can look at it this way, if the rifle and scope are in that great of a condition at this price you will be able to get your money back out of it if you are not happy. If you are happy you got on heck of a deal!

Well I doubt that I buy it ...I really do not need the rifle as it is in a caliber that is a tad large to use on deer here in the south. If any ofmy forum buddy'sare interested I'll give you the stores number and a name to ask for ...as of yesterday afternoon it was still available ...this is a very reputable store and the rifle looks to be in excellent condition.
