The only company I am familiar with is Century Arms International (CAI). They are importers, usually of milsurp guns. Maybe they imported it?

the rifle barrel is engraved with century something or other. also it has a ny addy, i believe. i was just wandering if the action was worth salvaging for a custom rifle build?

Century arms had some sporterized rifles that they sold, both a p14 enfeild that was converted to 300 win and 7mm rem mag, and one called the centurian 98 that was a reworked mauser in 30/06. I have one of the centurian 98 in 30/06 and my dad has one of the 7mm rem mag. THey are pretty nice rifles for the price. After a little bedding work my dads 7mm will shoot 3/4-1" fairly regularly with his handloads. My 98 06 will shoot inside 1.5" all day long with pretty much any ammo you choose to feed it, not bad for a loaner rifle I paid $200 bucks for.

That action on the 300 being the p14 action is very strong and would make a great platform for a custom, especially in a big bore to take advantage of the large magazine.

leaning towards a 6mm-06 or a 257 stw. will this action work?
