Default cuticle sticks for cleaning the flash gap

I helped my daughter geta Ruger revolver and I explained the importance of keeping things clean. As I do, she found it harder to clean around the space between the cylinder and barrel, especially the upper frame. So after a month or so, she says "try these" and hands me a long chisel tipped, thin piece of wood that she said was a cuticle stick. She dips these in solvent and goes after carbon. Works pretty doggone well.

That made me laugh! I wonder if the old lady wouldn't mind me borrowing hers.

Truly, only a lady could have come up with that and it is one hell of an idea.
