I'm sure this was already asked several times, what would be a better choise the 243, or 25 wssm. Will be used for Deer hunting and maybe an Antelope hunt. Maybe yotes now and then. I do reload. Looking for some suggestions....
The wssm's are having a few function problems I hear, like being hard to chamber rounds and limited popularity because of it. Theyre gonna die out id say. Id get a 25-06 mang.

get your wssm in an AR-15 from dedicated technologies and you have no problems, and the accuracy is better than production bolt actions, since you reload and your leaning towards med sized game go with the 25, my 25 from dedicated tech shot 3/8's with darn near anything during break-in

Why did'nt they just make a 25wsm. Based on the same case as the other shorts. I think it was a bad move on their part to make it in super short. It would have made alot better round in the short cartridge. I'd buy a 25wsm, but not a wssm

I've also heard of the WSSMs having 'chambering' problems. But I believe it was more of a feeding problem due to the fat case and sharp shoulder. I can't speak from experience, only hear say. If I were to pick from these 2 though, I would opt for the 25WSSM. But, for the game you're going to be hunting, you can't go wrong with a 25-05, 270, 280 or 7mm-08.

I'm not as good as I'm gonna get - but I'm better than I used to be. "Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - it has no point."
Can someone point us where to look to read about the WSSM problems? I have not heard of any real problems from credited sourceswith them, although I do not have one. I have read that the WSM and WSSM have almost endless reloading potential, they claim you can really do a lot with them. Not to say the classic .243 is bad at all, an excellent classic that will be around longer than I will.
I don't know much about the SM and SSM, but I can say that if you go to the gun shops the shelves are full of them and they aren't selling. That would be enough for me not to buy one. Stick with traditional cartridges.
