Default 10/22 bases and rings

what kind of scope bases, and rings, do you guys prefer on a ruger 10/22. The mount that comes with it doesn't work very well.

The 'tip-off' mounting rail that I first got with mine way back when was very disappionting. They are common on air guns and stuff, but I don't like them at all.

Go with a Weaver for only a few dollars more and have a MUCH more solid mount with grooves to keep things locked up tight.

These are a little costly but I like them a lot.

I use Millet rings and a Weaver type base on my 10/22s. Never had any issues with it, been rock solid.

on my 10-22 im using the base that came with it with leupold rings Ive been using it like this for about 2 years now and have not had any trouble with it. I really cant imagine what kind of trouble you are having with the base that comes with the gun unless you are using the wrong style rings..... could you be a little more specific? maybe I can help you fix whatever problem you are having.

Go to home depot and get some blue loctite to use on the screws holding the base on. They wont loosen up anymore. Hope it helps.

what rings are you using??? that can play huge role in the problem. I had the same problem with some cheapo simmons rings i got at wally world. but after chaninging the rings to a set of Leupold rifleman rings I never had the problem again. theres nothing wrong with the ruger base aslong as you use the correct rings.
