Default 22 Hornet question

Hi guys, I just bought a new Ruger Mod. 77 in 22 Hornet and wondered if anyone has one or uses one here.
Best loads used, pros and cons of rifle, any info will be helpful.
I like the Hornet I had one years ago but need some info on the newer gun and loads.

Good hunting and thanks for any input

I used to have the same gun, and I loved it. Great little shooter that accounted for quite a few critters.

Mine liked the ammo from S&B, and the Federal V-Max load. It also shot the Winchesters pretty well.

And, welcome to the board!

Thanks for the reply and the welcome I appreciate it.
The Sig. line you have at the bottom of your post had me splitting a gut, man thats great. I will get some mileage out of that one at the gun club.

Good hunting

I use hornandy ammo in mine. 35gr A Max. .22 hornet ammo is so FREAKING expensive, that gun is the reason I started reloading. I am in the process of trying to match that ammo exactly so I can start reloading it.

Oops, I meant Hornady V-Max. I get those two mixed up all of the time. And yep, it is an expensive shooter. I never did reload for it though. Didn't shoot enough rounds through it to justify it. I was already loading 8 other rounds, and didn't see the need for number 9.

And glad you liked the sig. That was posted at our local gas station one morning. Just too good to not use for a while.

Good shooting
