Default CVA interchangeable CENTERFIRE??

Over breakfast this morning I caught a bit of a TV commercial of CVA arms. From what I saw, it seems that they are now offering a single shot break open platform with interchangeable muzzleloader, shotgun, and centerfire(probably rimfire as well) barrells. ala T/C and NEF. Anybody with more knowledge, maybe pricing and quality? the whole 1 gun, several caliber thing has gotten my interest, but I am still not sure if it's the smart money.

Thanks, guys.

I am sure they wil be top notch. I have seen this too on their website. I have an Optima Pro .50 cal muzzleloaderthat shoots 1'' groups at 100 yds; 1st rate gun IMO. HCH

CVA Optima Elite; interchangable 29" muzzleloader barrels and24" centerfire rifle barrels. Looks like a pretty sweet combo setup.

One of the complaints I've heard of from this forum and local gun shop owners is the fact that the barrels are made in Spain, and therefore they don't pressure test them to the American standards.

What are "American standards"? As far as I know, every American firearms manufacturer proof-tests their product, OR NOT, as they see fit, to their internal company standards, if any. There is no legal requirement for any proof testing of firearms at allin this country! The only thing that keeps anyone honest in this regard is the potential of a product liability suit, and that threat applies to any outfit that sells a gun, regardless of where it is made. At least the Spanish have a proof law, as does almost every European nation (even France!!)

That CVA contraption is just like the T/C variety - ugly as a mud fence!

I have one CVA and a Cabela's black powder. Both and Spainsh made. I have yet to have any problems with either. As long as you follow what they say for charge size then all will be ok.

As to the question at hand. No rimfire yet. I have seen the whole gun at about 300.00 with the barrels run in the 100-120 range.

But I've yet to hear of a CVA barrel blowing up in someone's face with just normal recommended use and charges.
