Default got my new rifle

well we went and got my new rifle today even though i dont get it until christmas unless i can do some persuading. I ended up buying the mossberg 100 atr 270. There has been some pretty good reviews about it and i figured why not. The only thing i noticed that i didnt like was that it didnt have the swivel sling studs they dont swivel at all so im not sure how thats gonna work out. Other than that its what i was looking for lightweight.

congrats on the new purchase bud , sorry to hear that you have to wait until christmas to open her up but , how do you plan to keep her until then so that nothing bad or any damage happens to her ( like condensation causing internal rust ) ????

The old saying you get what you pay for, goes double with scopes. The least expensive scope I would use is a Nikon, and I love them. I would use a Leupold if I had the dough. I would hunt with open sights before I would let another Bushnell be mounted on any rifle I own.

That's not a bad price. It's also more than enough in the power range for hunting. I wouldn't recommend much more than a 3x9 unless you are shooting consistantly at ranges over 250 yards. Just my thoughts. Others might disagree.

Got any gunshops in your area? Check the "trade-ins" and see if they have "pre-owned" scopes. Lots of times you can get quality optics at a fraction of what they cost new. Sometimes they will take a scope off a used rifle and sell it if you ask.
