Default Another "what's your favorite...?" post

I'm wanting an 12 guage auto-loading shotgun that shoots 2-3/4", 3" & 3.5" shells. Something that I can shoot clays, ducks, turkeys, pheasant... well you get the picture. Versitility, is what I'm after.

I don't really care about color ortype of finish, blue/synthetic is fine or whatever.

My only real restriction is I need to keep it at or under 1000 bucks.

What would be your choice?

As always, I appreciate your help!

For that type of versatility, their are only two semi-autos I would personally consider.

Beretta Extrema2
Benelli Super Black Eagle II

Both go for $1200-$1400 depending on location. A little more than you wanted to spend, but definitely worth it. If it doesn'r have to be semi, their is always the 870 Express Super Mag, and Benelli Nova which are both great guns. Good luck.

I recommend Browning gold. I picked my 3.5" up on here for 600 dollars. I think it was a steal. I won't pay the new price for em. Another option is an 1187. I have had plenty and worked great.

Even cheaper, a friend here at work got the mossburg semi. When he told me about it, I though why mossburg, But it shot geese fine this year. He had trouble at first, but mossburg fixed the problem and works like a champ.

I shoot the Remington 11-87 and it is wonderful! Basically the same as the 1100, just the newer model. No kick, smooth shooting gun!

I myself would get a 2 shot auto; also known as an over/under. Perfect gun for what you want to do. Easy to clean with no disassembly and the option of shooting a different choked bbl for whatever the shooting condition requires, in other words the top bbl can be modified and the bottom improved cylinder. Screw in chokes and an O/U are the way to go my friend. This here is a Tristar and shoots2 3/4''-3 1/2'' shells, came with sling swivel studs, and is an excellent shooter and I gave $575 NIB for it.HCH

Super Black Eagle will do all of your shotgun hunting. All the other guns mentioned are aslo great but the beneli is an awsome gun.
