Default T/C Encore rifle barrel experence

Considering getting a 22-250 barrel for long range varmint control and was wondering about the kind of accuricy anybody is getting? The black powder is great considering what it is. Additionally what about the new fluited 28 inch barrels?

I LOVE my 22-250 Encore.
I have the heavy stainless 26" barrel and it's probably the most accurate gun I've ever had my paws on.

A few times I've put it on the bench and what I typically see is 5/8" to 3/4"groups out of factory loads at 100 yards.

Sometimes I set clay pigeons up at 200 yards and bust them with out missing all day long!
Like I said that's from a bench, I couldn't do anything like that off hand, but at least I know if I miss it's not the gun!!

I would say the Pro Hunter 28" barrel would be awesome as well!
Good luck.

I put together a 204 barrel for same purposes. I wouldn't do it again. An encore IMO is not useful as a varmit rig. Due to shot followup and breaking open the barrelwith bipods is not very convienent. Also, to get accruacy some "might", have to put an oversized hinge pin, and have the hole in the barrel and reciever reamed to match. I know I did. So each additional barrel, you would have to do the same.

I am going to keep my encore. But if I had it to do over again, I would definately just buy a bolt gun.

I thought T/C had a 1 MOA guarentee? I'm going to try it though, the Varmint hunting craze has made varmint rifles 100-150 more than a year ago.
