Default Rem. 700 SPS

I heard that these rifles with the detachable magazine have a problem with the magazines falling out for no reason. I've only heard this from one person, but he's a reputable gun shop owner.

Have any of you heard of or experienced this?

Never heard of the problem, but wouldnt be surprised if its common. I never did understand the idea of a detachable magazine on a bolt action I mean c'mon its a bolt action why do you need a detachable magazine. its not really a feature id find important for a hunting rifle. With the idea of it falling out I think I will actually avoid a bolt guns with detachable mags.

While I tend to agree that you don't need detachable magazines for hunting, I was just trying to find out if anyone has had any experience with this. I have a different rifle witha detachable magazine, and while it's not necessary, I do find it handy at the range since I have two magazines for it. Thanks for the reply anyway.
