Default .223

Hey everyone, anyone have any good ideas on a gun for the 223 cartdrige. I want it really to put a nice scope on it, shoot it at the range a bunch, and take some coyotes every now and then. pretty much i want it mainly for shooting/practicing. my budget is 500 bucks. thanks. Oh yeah semi auto, or bolt action, with a releaseable magazine.

vapodog did not say anything about savage or stevens because he does not like them, but they are good guns at a good price and will out shootallthe guns in that price range and alot of guns that cost more. And if you can find a charles daly still on the shelf. Thats what I would buy. they are now the new remmy. just my 2 cents

I would get a bull bbl and a heavy laminate stock for all day comfort of bench shooting.

My vote is for the savage or stevens also. I used to own a browning A-bolt medaltion. Hinged floor plate, but the magazine detached from that. They are out of your price ranger new, but if you can find a good used one. Then don't count them out.

Was it Winchester or Rem. that makes or made bolt action rifles with a DBM (Detachable Box Magazine)? Don't remember if it was made in .223, though........................

I think you can get the 700 Remington SPS with DBM.
