Default Savage .375 H&H ?

Anybody heard of this gun yet. I heard about it on another site but can't find it existing on Savages website. Here is quote from this guy....."Hi all. I was just at the gun shop and saw a new Savage in .375 H&H. It is a new model that is stainless with a newer style composite stock. The rifle has controlled round feed and comes from the factory with iron sights, as well as tapped for scope mounts. The barrel looks to be a heavy sporter, and about 20 inches long. My rifle is supposed to weigh 7lbs, 1 oz, and this one feels very similiar. I would say it probably comes in a little over 7 and a half. Anyhow, the thing handles like a shotgun, is stainless, and less than half the cost of a Ruger. I do not own one yet, but it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are a reloader. My 2 cents, but so far this is the best heavy caliber walking around rifle I have ever seen''

It's their alaska guide's gun.......I've heard about it too. Not too much press on it yet.

Savage has a long ways to go to convince me they're a big game rifle. They have succeeded hands down in proving their worth on the varmint hunting tour.....but big game.....not in my book!!!!!!

Is a .300 wsm 16BSS Savage considered a big game rifle? How about 3 shots that a dime will cover at 100 yds.

I have a lot of rifles and this is one of my favorites. This is the .300 wsm that shot it.

I think Vopo is speaking of DG hunting. Like Cape buffalo and such. Savage makes fine rifles for NA big game.

Big game or dangerous game? Savage also has a .338 win mag in their lineup. Tell me what is needed in a big game rifle besides accuracy. I don't think dependability is an issue with a Savage so please enlighten me.

The extractor is not working right on my new Savage model 12 270 WSM. Its letting go of the shell to soon and I have to take it out by hand. This is not normal with the Savage rifles that I have owned including the 338. I called Savage and they are sending me a new extractor and ball and spring. I think this will fix the problem. There is no charge for the new parts. I will let folks know how it turns out but I have not ever had a problem with Savage not providing good customer service.

Perhaps you would like to say what does make a big game rifle??? I'm sure not any expert, but would think savage makes a big game rifle. I only have one savage rifle, a 243 that I really do like. I'm considering purchaseing a 22 bolt action from savage. There may be better guns on the market, but they make a damn fine rifle for the money! And they are perfectly capable of takeing any of north america's big game!!
