Default 357 vs. 44 mag

Yup. Bigger bullet, bigger bucks. At least that is the trend. Bullets are a pricy component.

Ya a guy can save loads of cash by shooting 38 specials out of a 357. Generally around here a box of 44 is a few bucks more.

The 44mags are definately more than the 357mags. 38's work thru a 357 and 44 specials and russians work thru a 44 mag. There is not a big market for either of these so they cost as much or more than the mags, but they are cheaper to reload.

The 44 Mag is a bit more expensive but its a LOT more gun as well. If you reload, both are pretty inexpensive to shoot. There is just no reason not to reload if you enjoy shooting. Its cheap and easy to get in to.
