Default Picked up a smokin deal

Hey everyone. Just found a smokin deal on a new rifle. It's even in a caliber that I dont already have. Its a Ruger #1 stainless/laminate in 300 WinMag. It is used with only one little ding in the forarm. The scope that is on it is a leupold Var-XIII 3.5-10X50mm Silver in color. Gun and scope are in almost new shape. The owner before me said it kicked to hard for them so they traded it in on something smaller. Paid $575 for it out the door. What a great deal. The scope new goes for $549. The wife is a little pissed since I just bought another 338Win Mag just a couple of weeks ago. Hope it shoots good. Jovan

I guess you can figure you got either the scope or the rifle for free. Recoil is the bargain shopper's friend!

You got a heckuva good deal!! Bisquit Jake is right----some people buy the "big ones" and then find out they can't handle the recoil. That's how I got my .338 Win. Mag years ago. As far as the Ruger goes, I had a #1 some time ago in .300 Win. Mag, but ended up trading it for something else I just had to have at the time. As I remember, it was a decent shooting gun. Sorry now I got rid of it, but as we all know, hindsight is always 20/20. Hope you enjoy tour new "toy".

The .300 doesn't kick very bad in the Ruger #1. A lot of people can't handle much recoil at all. I shoot a .450 Marlin and a lot of my friends refuse to shoot it.

yeah thats a great deal. the guns are usually priced fro much more than that. i bought a ruger m77 MKII with a leupold vari x II on it for $400 dollars and i thought that was a great deal. Since then i put a thumbhole stock on it so i have 500 in it now and i still think that that is even a good deal.
