Opinions on ..22 bolt rifles
Ok I am in the market for a 22lr bolt rifle to get my son into squirrel hunting. I have had a CZ 452 which I liked but it wasn't blue/walnut which is a negative in a 22, I just don't like the lookand I have owned the 77/22. Remington 504 is a bit much as is the Kimber although they are great rifles. The Remington Zastava 22 looks good as wellbut goodness gracious I have given that company enough financial aid.Any ideas? Anyone own a Savage or Marlin22 and if so how do they like it?

I shot something similiar to that(Savage also)with a walnut stock in 17HMR that some guy at the range let me shoot. I was astounded on how accurate it was. Thanks

Here is another .17hmr Savage with the pepper stock. I think these are all some real nice shooting good looking rifles. I have the thumbhole one on order still and has not arrived. Here is their whole rimfire line. http://www.savagearms.com/rimfire_home.htm I have a Marlin mod 60SS semi auto .22 that is a great shooter too. I won it at a Ducks Unlimited Banquet on a $1 raffle. Marlin puts out a nice .22 also.

I've a marlin 22lr and it's a great rifle for ole' bushytail. In all honesty just about any bolt 22lr out there are accurate. A little trigger work and I'd say most will give you somewhere around 1/2" at fifty yards with the ammo they like best. IMHO stick with the 22lr for squirells.
