Default Rem 870 Trigger

I'm putting together a slug gun based on a Remington 870. The trigger is fine, as far as a shotgun goes, but now that I've put a rifled barrel and scope on it...well, the trigger leaves a littel to be desired. Can these triggers be smoother out? Lightened? Creep adjusted? Can you buy an aftermarket trigger like Timney for it or do I have to work with what I've got? Much thanks.

Replacement hammers and springs are available. Someone used to make a custom trigger group for 870's and once in awhile I see them on EBay. The trigger can be improved
