Default 30-06 Help?

As most of you are likely aware, the old 30-06 has its 100th birthday coming up this October 15th. I have many rifles (various calibers and makes) mainly from bordem of growing up with uncles that only used their reliable 30-06 pump Remingtons. I think it's now time to fill the hole, however, and get a nice 30-06. So far, I've been thinking about Sako 75 and 85, Kimber's new 8400, Tikka T3 and I see Remington has a commemorative fluted barrel 30-06. I would have thought most of the manufacturers would be offering special 30-06's this year, am I just too early? I'd love a nice Dakota Arms rifle, but the price tag is just too much. For under $1,500, does anything really stick out as a real nice to have? Appreciate your thoughts.

If you want something to last a long time and be worth something to your heirs. A Kimber 8400 or Sako 75,85 tops the list.

My choice would be the Remington Pump commemorative. I saw them on the Grice Gun shop site. Its a limmited run of course.

If you can find a pre '64 Winchester model 70 in good shape, I think that would be a good option. A classic rifle and cartridge that makes for a good combination. Course I'm kinda biased since I own one myself. I've got some nice Sakos and some other rifles, but the oldmodel 70 seems to get the nod as often as anything else.
