need opinions on a .22

Im planning on getting a new .22 lr. i was thinking a remington 597, marlin semi auto, or a CZ USA 513 basic. If i got the rem or marlin i would just get the cheapest one and soup it up a little like make a new stock, buy a new barrel, etc. Could you please tell me the pros and cons of these guns. thanks.

Remington 597's aren't that good of a gun IMO. They just don't perform near as well as say a Ruger 10/22. Never shot a CZ. If I were you I'd get a Ruger 10/22. There are a lot more aftermarket accessories available for this gun and it works very well. And its still cheap.

i would definately not go with the rem i don't know anything about cz's though. the 10/22 would be good though since it has so many accessories you can get for it.

You can't go wrong with a 10/22 or 77/22. I have a couple of each, and all perform exceptionally. All 22's are scoped because my eyes aren't great anymore, but when I could shoot open sights, the Ruger sights were great.
