Have chance to buy Rem 700,Classic 1989 in 300 Weatherby, fired less than a box of shells,pristine condition.anyone have idea of value, and where there many of these produced?
any help would be nice.

My 24th edition of "Blue Book of Gun Values", which is several years old, indicates that at 100% (as NIB) would be $555. 98% is listed @ $450. These are book values only, and as always, price is based on what the market will bear, as well as your individual "gotta have it" needs.
Chances are that as time goes by, that rifle will do nothing but continue to rise in value. Any chance you can get the original factory box and paperwork with it? It would be worth checking out............ Good luck....

I have some sold some "collectible rifles/shotguns" the last few years and pretty much in every event the original box and unfired condition are a necessity to get anywhere near book value. I had the 300 win mag version of the classic(1988?) and I sold it for about 100 under book but that's what I paid for it anyway. It was fired a few times , no marks on the wood or steel and no box.

The classic in 300 Weatherby have been selling for $600-$650 in LNIB condition. When it comes to the Classic ltd edition rifles, caliber does make a difference. The 300 Savage, and 8mm Mauserbring a pretty low price compared to the 300 Weatherby, and 220 Swift.

As far as how many were produced, you might check with Remington. Each year, the rifle was chambered to a different cartridge. Next year, they change the cartridge to a new one. Good luck

I collect the 700 Classic's,once they are fired the price will drop,and keep the box that it comes in if you ever want to sell it for a good price...;)

Seems to me that most of those annual "Classics" in the various calibers like .300 savage, 8X57mm, .250 Savage, etc., sell for between $500 and $600 on the various gun auction sites.......
