Default brass front sight on BC 45-70

I was thinking in trying a brass front sight on my H@R B C 45-70 seem I find it hard to pick up the front sight under the lyman globe hood.I am going to try to cut into the hood of the sight to see if I can get a little more light on the post inside the globe.I do have the upgrade lyman peep on the rear was wondering if a brass front sight would work, would like to keep the traditional look on the rifle ,would hate to go to a fiber optic sight up-front.

They make glow-in-dark sight paint. If would look awefully close to white paint in daylight. Would that be to untraditional?

I think a brass front would work well. I have th BC as well. My front sight has the interchangable inserts that go in the front globe. Does yours have those? I was thinking of trying a brass one too. I shoot 90 perent black powder loads in my BC so far. I have the 22 inch version of the Handi rifle too. I love the darn little things. I have the 357 and 44 Mag as well. When it comes to rimmed cartridges with lower pressures than the 243 and 30-06, they are a completely different animal.
