Default RifleScopes.com follow up

I didn't get my cantilever rifled barrel until recently. I was going to use the POS align, but was told before I ordered inserts that it wouldn't help with my situation because my gun was too far off with the receiver mount. So I waited until I got the cantilever barrel figuring I needed rings anyway, so I might as well use them and not have to adjust.

It hasn't rained here in almost two months, so even if I did take it outside, WHICH I DIDN'T, there was no way it could have rusted. NOTHING was mentioned about the return policy, and the only thing missing was the straight back plastic of thepackaging. EVeryone knows it can take time to get other items in, or even make it to a place to make sure things work.

I have SEVERAL witnesses that I have no problem giving contact information to that anyone can talk to them and they will attest to the fact that (1) the rings didn't fit as promised,and (2) that they were in perfect condition when I mailed them back.

It is one thing if you get what you ordered and change your mind, it is another if they don't fit like they are supposed to. Personally, I believe that since it didn't even fit, they should have paid shipping since I was inconvenienced anyway. But I wasn't asking for shipping both ways.

It isn't the $15 or so dollarsI am out thatmakesme mad. It isthe fact that I was LIED to about the rust. That made me post the thread.

Many of you surely had no problems, because they mailed you something of value. MINE DIDN'T FIT, SO I HAD TO SEND IT BACK AND ENDURE THE RETURNSERVICE.

You still had their product for 4 months. Personally, I wouldn't have even bothered contacting them about returning them. I would have kept them for future use, or sold them on Ebay. And, I think being charged 15% restocking fee for you having them that long is more than fair. Do you have any idea how many companies would have told you to get bent? Sorry, but IMHO, you don't have a leg to stand on.

I'm going to have to agree with longrifle1000. After the return period expires, they were under no duty to do anything for you. And a 30 day return period is more than generous. Some folks justhave 10 to 15 day return periods.

They sent something that was supposed to fit a standard weaver mount and doesn't.

After I got the rings, I spoke with someone there about which INSERT to buy for the rings so my sighting problem would be fixed. I told them how far off my gun was to the existing scope on the gun, and they said their rings couldn't fix the problem. So then I had to buy a cantilever rifled barrel with a standard weaver mount. When I saved the money and bought the barrel, the rings didn't fit. It's one thing if you got something that does what it is advertised to do, and sent it back for any reason.You don't have a leg to stand on. But their rings did not fit the standard weaver mount on the cantilever rifled barrel from BassPro.

When I spoke with him on the phone, he didn't say a single word about timing of return. It's not like I used them for any period of time and finally decided to return them.They were brand new. He said he would refund me upon receipt. He got them the same way he sent them, and DIDN'T REFUND ME WHAT I PAID, claiming they were rusted. It was the rust lie that ticked me off. As I said, I have several witnesses that saw the rings, and my wife was there when I packaged them. I put them in a the padded mailing envelope and they were in the same condition as they were when I received them.

People saying they've bought things from riflescopes.com and they were fine is of no bearing. If they sent rings that fit, I would never have sent them back. He told me on the phone before I even sent them back he would refund me the full price. Instead, heinvented a lie and didn't refund me the full price.

First off, why won't they fit? I have never seen weaver style rings that didn't fit weaver style bases. Why on earth would he make up a lie over a paltry 15% which is just $5. Doesn't make sense to me. I am not saying you are not telling the truth, but things just don't add up. But you do what you have to, and what feels right to you.

I have no idea why they didn't fit. They weren't wide enough to accomodate the mount, and the guy who was putting them on has YEARS of experience with guns.

The $15 isnot the issue, it's the lie. He sent me a PM calling me a "crybaby" and didn't even mention the "rust" because we both know it doesn't exist. This speaks volumesabout the service at riflescopes.com

The company I work for would charge a 20% restockong fee for items returned UNLESS defective parts were sent out.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but i can tell you that just "handleing" the parts can make them rust. (natural oil and salt on your fingers) Also it doesn't have to rain for there to be humity in your house...
