Default Need help with Savage model 24 O\U

What type of rings\bases does this need. I looked up weaver style bases for it and it says it uses tip off rings. I guess thatis the 22 style rings but the block on the top of the receiver is not dove tailed for those rings to work(I think). It has one hole towards the front and two in the back. I've searched alot of places on the net and cant find any good info on what this needs. Any help would be appreciated.

I also would like to get a replacement stock for it since it has a plastic stock now. Boyds has them but only for a 410 barrel I think. Im not getting any real good info on this gun and additional parts. Again thx for help

I am assuming you have the newest model 24F?

It uses a Weaver #74 base.

If I am not mistaken it should have come with a base either in the box or pre installed.

Mine didn't come with the base but that is the base it uses. However I got mine many years ago.

Its not that new. I bought it off a bud about 5 years ago, I shot the 223 a few times then cleaned and oiled it, put in the safe and never really mess with it other than a little lube here and there. It had the high see-thru rings on it and the bottoms of the ring connected directly to the gun, I couldnt deal with those any longer. I appreciate the info.

You might want to try Numrich Arms, West Hurley, NY. for the stock/forearm wood. They have wood for either the 24f or 24v, and plastic for the other one, according to their website.
Hope this helps..............

I got it. Thanks for all the help. Going to see about getting prices on stocks today.

Do all those guns come with that rock hard plastic cap that looks like a recoil pad. Its nice to have something when some high brass 2's go off other then hard plastic.
