RE: 8MM-06
A good friend of mine had a 8MM-06 whiuch he later on converted it to the 8mm-06 Improved. In this conversion he gained about 300 fps over the original 8MM mauser which it started out in life as. Its an excellent hunting round which would not give up much to the new 325 WSM. It shoots a bit flatter than the 35 Whelen and except for a limited supply of bullets in that caliber wouldbe a very versitile round and a good round for elk and bear within its range.
