Default LC Smith Double Barrel

Has anybody had any expereince with the new LC Smith double barrel? I looked at one the other day and it seemed to be a well built gun but I normally don't shoot a shotgun very often. I'm looking for a double or O/U because I messed up my wrist and will have to start shooting left handed and don't want shells flying in front of my face.

All I know is that the new L.C. Smiths are NOT the L.C. Smiths of old. They are now made by Marlin. While I have mixed feelings about putting such a lofty name of guns in hopes of *maybe* misleading an unknowing buyer...Marlin makes solid guns. This is mechanically speaking, I've not seen any in life to comment on fit or finish.

Many, Many of us southpaws have no trouble whatsoever with shooting right-handed pumps and autos. May give it a week or two and see if you can get use to it.

Actaully these LC smith guns are not even made by MArlin. I believe they are made in italy. Maybe by Fausti? I have read good reviews on them though

Yes, I was aware they were made for Marlin by an Italian company. I can still shot my pump shotgun but would like to have a double barrel. I'm having to switch over and shot all my guns left handed. I can't bend my wrist enough to grip the gun right handed and when I do if I shot it feels like somebody is sticking a knife through my wrist.

Don't know if it would make any difference...but if you can ask around and see if any of you friends have a straight stocked shotgun or lever rifle. They will might help with pain...or make it worse[&:]

I have several lever action gun and I can't hold them either. I can't bend my wrist more than 1/2" in any direction.

O.k. Then you are on the right track; alot of the O/U are geared towards the competition shooting which involves high volume shooting and there "palms swells" are designed to be as comfortable as possible. They're easy to pick out because they put the trigger hand at nearly 90 degrees from the reciever. Bad news is that I've only seen this in the high-end doubles...now benelli makes some turkey guns that actually have a pistol grip drop down from the stock, if you can find one....might look at it also.
