Default Set of Weatherby rifles...

Got an idea everybody:

I'm going to collect a Weatherby Mk V Deluxe of every caliber Weatherby makes (so, .224, .240, .257, 270, 7mm, 300, 30-378, 338-378, 340, 375, 378, 416, and 460 magnums).....

I know the value of these things is pretty variable, but how much would a set be worth?

Oh, and they won't all be NIB or the same vintage (West German makes, ***anese makes, USA makes, I don't care), just wondering.

THoughts?

There you have it.

Seriously, it would depend entirely on exactly which models you purchased and their condition. It could vary by many thousands of dollars.

Honestly I don't there will be any kind of collector value associated with this kind of collection unless you were able to do it with consecutive serial numbers, same exact model for every gun in 98% or better condition, or something similar that no one else would have. But to do so would literally take years and possibly never at all.

well, consecutive #'s would certainly add amazing value.

That's not my goal.

And it's not like I'm going to do this tomorrow or anything.

It'll take years and years.

Just an idea, and I've heard it's good to have goals!

Definetly good to have goals.

It would definetly be neat to have a rifle for every single Weatherby cartridge.

I've got a better Idea....Have the custom shop of (insert desired manufactorer) make you a matching set of guns in 30-06 wildcats. 6mm-06, 6.5-06, 7mm-06, 30-06, 8mm/338-06, 35-06, 375-06 and then 41 or 416-06 (whichever is the largest it'll take) That's something I'd like to do someday....well, minus the custom shop/matching guns thing.

No. Honestly, different folks have like different things. I just felt like hijacking a thread[8D]

here's a quote from Nelson Rockerfeller:

If you have to ask the price.....you can't afford it!

Figure on $550 each used...
