Default 7600 Carbine

I have a chance to pick up a nearly new 7600 carbine in 30-06. I'm wondering about the recoil and muzzle blast of these with the 18.5 inch barrel. I have never been a big fan of the 06 but this is a very good deal.

Its really not bad at all. I had one for many years and shot a lot of big game with it. I think you would like it.

It is not bad at all. My Model A3-03 .30-06 kicks like a mule but the 7600, 7400 series carbines don't have much of a kick IMO.

Being a lefty I started out with 7600 in a 308win, then 3006 and still own a 270win. I never really worried about the recoil but when I bought my lh 270 win bolt I did notice a difference between it and my 7600. Fit, weight and lack of recoil pad all aide in this increase in felt recoil. That said it certainly isn't filling rattling either. So in short yes it may have more felt recoil than a comparable bolt rifle but IME no source for concern.

PS - As far as muzzle blast can't recall it being an issue, mind you I don't shoot the 7600 much now a days.

Best of luck
