Default marlin 17

Hi i just bought a marlin 917vs from my neigbor this afternoon. he said he just didnt like it. i got teh gun a tasco worldclass scope an extra magazine a boyt case and well of course rings and bases and 500 rounds of ammo for $250. he shot a fox(thats the only animal he got with it) and shot it just enough to sight it in otherwise its brandnew. i still have the partial box of ammo in with the others so by count he shot it 17 times. so i thought that was a heck of a deal. i didnt get to shoot it yet but i have high expectations for it. anyone else have one. i think they are pretty sweet with the silver and the stock bein different then im used to seein. IDK im proud of her already lol and i am yet to shoot it. will post pics if i can figure it out!

Heck of a deal! Supposed to be a great shooter, and you have about $100 dollars worth of ammo there. Congrats!

I own a savage with the blued heavy barrel and love it. The savages and marlins are pretty simular so you should be happy. You got one heck of deal on that rifle. Like I said, mine is blued with the regular wood stock and it was around $200 new, that's without scope, rings and ammo. Heck the ammo is about 8-9 bucks a box. And I think those scopes are in the 100-150 dollar range, not sure about that though.

If you want to know more about the little 17's check out rimfirecentral.com. They have a forum just for the 17 HMR.

Good luck,
Paul
