I think I read that one. I just ask because I might have the dough to get another 270 in the summer and you cant beat those for the deal that they are at wally world. 244 I believe. Yeah, I am poor and poor people should probably not hunt but I wont let it stop me.

A Stevens 200 is ten times the rifle that the Mossberg is for the same price. It's the old Savage 110 which we all know is an exceptional rifle for the price.

I rank the Mossberg just above the 710.

NoI don't live there any more. I just don't feel like remembering another password for this site. [8D]

I have used a Ruger 77 - 7mm Rem mag and a Winchester 70 in .270.

Since moving then I have made a 300 WSM on a Howa action and bought a .338 RUM. My next elk will fall to either an arrow or the .338 RUM.

bigbulls and hevishot why is the mossberg such a bad rifle are you guys pros on rating a rifle ive shot one actually and have also shot a stevens. Let me tell you this you would be stupid to take the stevens over the mossberg the mossberg out shot the stevens and also felt a ton beter.

I would opt for the Stevens. If you want to replace the stock, or trigger, or anything it is very easy to find parts. All of the Savage parts, pre-accutrigger, will fit it.

Bigbulls,Thanks dude, and I am gonna get an archery tag for a cow and then a bull tag probably for the south west or 511-512 area. I might do deer down there as well. Where do you live now?
