Default Benelli R1 Trigger

I bought a Benelli R1 Rifle last year and I love the way it handles and fits, but can not seem to get used to the trigger. Does anyone know a good gunsmith that has some experience with these trigger assemblies? I am not just talking about lightening up the pull; I am talking about making a new one from scratch.

I would appreciate any help.

Do you have any idea how much you would have to spend on the labor charges for a gunsmith to actually build a trigger system for a rifle? It would cost you more than the rifle cost.

Aside from that the R1 is essentially a gas operated SBE but in rifle form. The trigger assembly is basically the same and functions the same way. SSimilar to the way Remington uses the same trigger assemblies in their shotguns and thier pump and auto rifles.

You are not going to be able to get a no creep and super crisp trigger in the R1. A gunsmith will be able to remove some of the creep and make it smooth as silk but being the design that it is it must posess certain things in order to make it safe.

The money wouldn't bother me too much if I could get it right. I've had the trigger appart and was able to lighten the trigger pull a little, but I am not sure a gunsmith could do much with the creep. The safety rocker has to catch and I think it would take new parts.

If it was a SBE trigger, I would be happier. My Father in law has one and it works better then the R1. The safety button on the R1 is in the front of the guard making it a hard to reach and it's not like any other gun that I have so I fumble around with it.

It's two pins to hold thewhole trigger assembly in.With all the after market triggers out there, it's only a matter of timebefore someone makes a fix for this gun.
