Twenty-some years ago when Olin and USRAC became seperate companies, I thought that USRAC would go the way of a lot of old companies. That it took this long is a credit to the people that worked there and those that ran it.
That they've finally shut the door on the New Haven plant is indeed a loss for Americana as a whole.
I spoke with a Winchester rep today and he said that there will still be some 'sorting out' to be done. That someone may still pick up the name and possibly some, if not all, of the guns. I'm guessing time will tell what will become of this grand old Lady of American gun manufacturing.
